  General Notes:

In 1912, WILLIAM BRUCE MAIN sailed to Australia to find a new home for family. In 1914, three weeks before they were due to sail, Louisa died quite suddenly. We believe that after Louisa's death, her sister Mary (Lewis) Gardner, cared for the three children until 1915, when they joined their father in Australia. Family lore says William Main returned to Scotland for the children, but he is not listed as passenger or crew on board their ship, Miltiades.
Sadly, most of Louisa's family, who were scattered acros the globe, lost touch with William Main and the children in Australia. But now, thanks to the internet, their descendants have re-established contact.
